Community & Business
A strong part of SUNY Ulster’s mission is to serve its community. In addition to meeting the educational needs of its citizens, the College helps the county’s economic development and the training needs of local businesses; hosts agencies such as the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP); offers access to its library collections and services; provides computer access and meeting space; and invites the community to lectures, performances, and forums.
Each semester also brings new names to SUNY Ulster's well known and respected arts programs, including the Artist-in- Residence Program, the Library Writers Series, the Poetry Forum, and the Visiting Artist Series. Regular exhibitions of local and nationally known artists are displayed in Muroff-Kotler Visual Arts Gallery, the College's Theater Department stages dramatic presentations each semester, and Musical Concerts of all genres are open to the public during the year.
