Mid Hudson Health & Safety Institute

The Mid-Hudson Health and Safety Institute assists business and industry in developing programs to reduce worker risk and comply with mandated Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) requirements. The Institute provides consultation and assessment, awareness, and training to clarify mandates and adapts training to the specific health and safety needs of individual businesses.

In addition, the Institute houses Ulster County's Traffic Safety and Injury Prevention Program sponsored through the Traffic Safety Board and the Governor's Traffic Safety Committee. Educational and informational programs, together with a resource library, are available to community organizations at no cost. As part of this program, free Child Passenger Car Seat Clinics are offered in various locations around the County (call for more information). Certified Technicians are also available by appointment, for a list of other locations where you can schedule an appointment to have your child car seat checked, click here . ( To assist the technicians, click here to download and print the Booster Seat Screening Tool form, fill it out, and bring it with you.)

The Institute uses online training for up to date Environmental Technology training and instruction of current Homeland Security issues.
