DESCRIPTION: The Instructor/Assistant Professor of Nursing reports to the Area Chair of Nursing and Public Safety. This position is in adult health/medical-surgical nursing. Primary responsibility for nursing content in the classroom and clinical teaching

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree in Nursing. Clinical experience in adult health/medical-surgical required.

Anticipated Tenure Track Positions:


August (Fall Semester) 2008 ~  The following anticipated full-time tenure track positions are anticipated beginning August 2008 for the Fall semester.  All positions require a Master’s Degree in discipline stated below, plus a minimum of three years college teaching experience preferred; Ph.D. preferred.  Competitive salary and excellent benefits package offered.

HISTORY - Ulster County Community College, a two year branch of the State University of New York, located in the Catskill Mountains ninety miles north of New York City, anticipates an opening for a full-time tenure track position in European History beginning August 2008.  All concentrations are welcome to apply, however, preference will be given to candidates who can teach a non-Western field (especially the Middle East or Far East).  The teaching load is 30 credit hours per year and professional responsibilities include advising students and committee assignments.  Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in European History; college teaching experience preferred.  Send vita, all college transcripts, three letters of professional reference and a statement of teaching philosophy to Human Resources, Ulster County Community College, Stone Ridge, NY 12484 by 02/08/08.  Members of underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.  AA/EOE.

  • WATERSHED CONSERVATION CORPS COORDINATOR

    Title: Watershed Conservation Corps Coordinator
    Unit: OPAP Level III
    Salary Range: $40,500 per year

    This is a term appointment, beginning approximately June 2, 2008, through August 31, 2009. Excellent benefits package.

    DESCRIPTION: This is a full-time position with UCCC through contract with New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Stream Management Program (SMP) in support of the DEP SMP Research Program. The SMP Research Program documents stream morphology, sediment transport dynamics, stream stability restoration methods and success, aquatic habitat and biotic community condition, and erosion rates. This research is used to develop tools for improved stream management and stewardship in the five counties West of Hudson New York City Watershed region. The Coordinator’s work will support all aspects of the SMP’s Research Program and report to the SMP Research Program Manager. During the field season (May – August) duties will include training, supervising and administering interns. Throughout the year, duties will include data collection, analysis, interpretation, quality control, organization and incorporation into DEP’s GIS and Stream Geodatabase, preparation of technical reports and presentations, contracting and other administration, and equipment maintenance and organization. The Coordinator will work with multiple resource agencies, landowners, local governments and internal DEP program staff as needed.

    QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field; experience in word-processing, spreadsheet and/or database software; experience with at least one of GIS, GPS, elevation survey or biological/physical habitat survey with analysis and interpretation; experience in field-based stream assessment, biological/vegetative assessment or other field assessment methods required. Master’s degree or at least two years experience in environmental science related field; solid mathematics or statistics background, verbal communication skills, scientific research and supervisory experience strongly preferred.

  • COLLEGE NURSE

    DESCRIPTION:  This position reports to the Coordinator of Health Services and is responsible for providing medical and health services to members of the College community, maintenance of immunization records, and other duties as assigned by the Coordinator.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and be a licensed nurse (R.N.).

  • COUNSELOR ~ RISE PROGRAM

    DESCRIPTION: This position reports to the Coordinator of RISE (Reaching Independence through Supported Education) Program and is responsible for managing a case load of RISE participants/students; establish and manage work experiences; leading regular counseling meetings; tracking academic success/employment and providing follow-up services; conduct assessments of students/clients from Ulster County Department of Social Services; and present workshops and classes in life skills, academic enhancement and employment strategies for students and DSS clients.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor’s degree; experience in education, counseling, working with at-risk students, and working in a college environment; or Associate’s degree plus four years related experience required

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required; ability to interact well with groups, be self-directed, flexible and patient.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree preferred; current clinical expertise and NYS registration; experience with preparation of learning objectives, development of learning modules, and performance evaluation preferred.

  • COORDINATOR of ACCOUNTING

    Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Accounting; experience in financial matters and office management including work in budgeting and accounting required.

    DESCRIPTION: The Program Coordinator reports to Dean of Academic Affairs and is responsible for all evening College activities conducted at the Highland Middle School. This position serves as the UCCC representative at the Highland Middle School facility and provides a support function to ensure the highest quality academic operation. Duties include, but are not limited to: ensuring facilities are accessible for College activities, maintaining College communication via telephone and e-mail, processing equipment requests, serves as liaison to the campus with other College personnel/offices and for College public relation purposes, coordinates delivery of textbooks with the College Bookstore, and assists with promotion of the SUNYUlster Highland campus.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree required.
