Information Literacy
Information Literacy continues to be a major initiative at SUNY Ulster. In 1996, this initiative program led to the development of a course, Information Literacy (LIB 111), which received the Association of College and Research Library (ACRL) Innovation in Instruction Award and in 1999 the SUNY Office of Library & Information Services awarded SUNY Ulster the contract to provide a web-based information literacy template that is currently available to all SUNY campuses. The most innovative aspect of the program is that it is taught primarily by teaching faculty.

NOTICE
For students who are experienced and proficient in the material
covered in LIB111, SUNY Ulster offers the opportunity to take
a test to meet the competency requirement. Those who pass
the test do not have to take the course. For complete information
