Planning for your transfer from SUNY Ulster should begin as soon as you are enrolled at SUNY Ulster. The key to successful transfer is extensive research into four-year college requirements, and proper timing!
Who Can Help You with Your Transfer Plans?
At SUNY Ulster, your assigned faculty adviser is familiar with your chosen curriculum, and can be of help in identifying transfer institutions which will meet your educational goals. In addition, SUNY Ulster's Transfer Office, located in Vanderlyn Hall, room 119, is ready to help you with your plans. The Transfer Office houses a Resource Library with directories, college catalogs, books on transfer, and online resources to help in your decision making.
When Should You Apply to the Four-Year College?
You should try to apply to your four-year college of choice a year in advance. This is especially true when applying to SUNY four-year colleges and universities. Many schools have rolling admission and accept students on a continual basis as applications are received. Early application often provides a better chance for acceptance to the college of your choice.
