Primary Area of Expertise
My focuses in literature tend to center around Trauma Theory and Experimental Fiction and its evolution through the ages. By analyzing how the experimental fiction of our current literary age (which even now still lacks an official label as we are in the thick of it, but has been referred to as “post-post-modernism”) represents trauma through broken narrative and through redefining and reshaping the physical shape and structure novel itself, we are able to see not only the values and fears of the society in which the work was produced, but the solutions to address those social fears. At the end of it all, the rhetorical representation of trauma actually offers us an insightful hope.
