SUNY Ulster supports all students, including DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, also referred to as Dreamers), Immigrant and International students. We believe that the pursuit of education is a fundamental right that should be available to all, and we support students as they work toward this goal, regardless of immigration status.
We Welcome Your Application
If you are an undocumented student or one who is temporarily protected by the DACA, we welcome your application for admission and your contributions to making campus life more diverse, complete, and enriching. Please be assured that SUNY Ulster does not label or monitor undocumented students, and we will not release identifying information about our faculty, staff or students to any officials unless ordered to do so by law. Moreover, colleges are considered protected areas and, as such, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) have policies stipulating that sensitive locations should generally be avoided from enforcement actions taking place, and require either prior approval from an appropriate supervisory official or exigent circumstances necessitating immediate action. The Department of Homeland Security is committed to ensuring that people seeking to participate in activities or utilize services provided at any protected area are free to do so without fear or hesitation.

Admission counselors at SUNY Ulster are ready to provide additional information about the application process and requirements for those seeking to qualify for in-state tuition.
While DACA students are not eligible for federal or state financial aid, they are welcomed to apply for scholarships and other support through the Ulster Community College Foundation, Inc. In addition, there is a scholarship entitled: SUNYFAP Aspirations Scholarship for DREAMers currently enrolled in college available to all SUNY students for $1000, and it is being sponsored by SUNY Financial Aid professionals. The deadline was March 29, 2024.
