Our teaching staff have a range of Childhood Development Certificates, two year degrees, four year degrees and Teaching Certifications.  All teaching staff receive 15 hours of professional development each year in all areas of early childhood education.  All teachers are trained in First Aid and CPR.

Policies and Procedures

Our Family Handbook outlines every policy and procedure the Children’s Center follows.

During Fall and Spring semesters at SUNY Ulster:

  • If the College closes campus, the Children’s Center is closed.
  • If there is a delay to the start of classes on any particular day, the center will open when the college opens.
  • If classes are canceled during the day, we will contact you to pick up your child, as the center will be closing.

You are expected to pick up your child within one hour of being contacted.

For the Universal Pre-K program:

If the Rondout Valley School District schools are closed, the Universal Pre-K program is canceled. If Rondout has a two hour delay, the UPK program will start at 11:00. If the center remains open, the wrap students may attend if it is a day that they are normally scheduled to wrap.

For all closings and delays a post will be placed on our Facebook page and an email will be sent to all parent email addresses on file.
