New York State Law requires licensed professionals, teachers and school administrators applying for the renewal of a license, registration, certificate or limited permit to complete coursework regarding child abuse, DASA (provided by BOCES, call 845-331-5050) and school violence.

Teachers, educators, administrators, classroom helpers and tutors, these courses will help you keep up-to-date with teaching trends and instructional strategies while also providing professional credentials.


Course Offerings


NYS Mandated Training: Am I taking the right course?

The Identification and Reporting of Child Abuse Workshop is also known as: Abuse Prevention Workshop, Child Abuse Prevention Workshop, Mandated Reporter Workshop, and many others. These are merely different names for the same exact courses.

The Schools Against Violence in Education workshop is known by many names: School Violence Prevention and Intervention Workshop, S.A.V.E. Workshop, Violence Prevention Workshop, SAVE Workshop, Safe Schools Against Violence in Education, and many others. 


Child Abuse Recognition & Reporting

This self-paced, open-entry online course will teach you about mandated reporting to meet the requirements for the two-hour certification course as part of Section 413 of the New York Social Services Law. Learn the physical and behavioral signs of child abuse, neglect and maltreatment. A digital certificate will be emailed to you upon completion (please allow up to two weeks).

Violence Prevention & Intervention (SAVE)

This open-entry course meets the certification requirements for school staff as specified in the Safe Schools Against Violence in Education Act (SAVE). In this two-hour online course, you will learn the dynamics of aggressive behavior in children and the tools used to prevent them from becoming victims of such behavior. A digital certificate will be uploaded to your TEACH account upon completion (please allow up to two weeks).
