A Message from the Executive Director
Many thanks to our donors and friends of the College who have helped to grow the Foundation and, in particular, the Scholarship Program!
As the Executive Director, I feel privileged to be a part of SUNY Ulster and the Foundation. I would like to take this opportunity to share the Foundation’s vision about where we can go from here … together.
A former Vice Chair and Director Emerita of the Ulster Community College Foundation, Inc., I have also been a member of the business community in the fields of real estate and healthcare operations including large scale development projects. A community grows as we expand the mission and outreach for the good we do. As I transfer from a career of building things into this opportunity to build relationships, I have been fortunate to see the impact of a donor on a student, to see a family who takes joy in helping our students and assisting our academic programs in their mission, to commemorate the memory of a life well-lived with an in-memorial directive to fund the future growth of a student, a department, or an initiative.
Your gifts to the Ulster Community College Foundation, Inc. create that special place, one where your legacy resides, not in a list of your precise accomplishments, but in the life of another for whom you have given great opportunity.
Over the past five years, the Foundation has been the recipient of over $1 million in planned gifts. Many of the bequests are a result of long term relationships with our contributors who, in addition to present day gifts, fund hope by including the College in their estate plans. We are grateful for these planned gifts and all of our donors.
I encourage you to play a rewarding and vital role in the future of your community college by supporting a scholarship or one of the many academic or cultural initiatives. Please call me at (845) 687-5093 or email me at salmonl@sunyulster.edu to discuss how you can be a part of the continued growth and legacy of SUNY Ulster. I welcome the opportunity to meet with you over a cup of coffee or tea. Together we will do great things.
Very truly yours,
Lorraine Salmon
