A career as an artist can bring deep satisfaction whether you choose to become a designer, illustrator, teacher, curator, or one of the myriad of other career choices available to you. A 2022 report issued by the Strategic National Arts Alumni Project (SNAAP) indicates that:

  • 87% of arts alumni between the ages of 18 and 64 were employed in September 2022.
  • 75% of arts alumni in the workforce have arts-related job duties, regardless of their job title
  • The likelihood of arts alumni to be self-employed is 3.6% higher than other workers
  • Alumni with arts-related job duties reported significantly higher rates of being ‘very satisfied’ with their opportunities to be creative and intellectually challenged than alumni without arts-related job duties.
