Heavy emphasis is placed on both liberal arts and pre‐professional studies. An optional field work internship is recommended and preferred by some transfer institutions.

This program is designed for students who want to transfer to a four year college or university to earn their four-year degree. For those who want to work in the field directly after attaining their Associate’s degree, SUNY Ulster also offers an A.A.S.

Employment Potential

A graduate of this program who then earns a baccalaureate or higher degree will be positioned for a career in direct service and supervisory or administrative positions in fields such as social work, human services counseling, education, and mental health.
