Our GED program, covering the five subject areas on the GED test, is a comprehensive review designed for students seeking to obtain their high school diploma.  All enrolled students have access to college admissions counseling.


Courses Offerings

High School Equivalency/GED 1 & 2 

This course is a comprehensive review for students wanting to receive their High School Equivalency Diploma. Students will prepare to take the General Educational Development (GED™) Test. 

The GED™ 1 classes will focus on reading/writing, science, social studies, and mathematics. GED™ testing is determined by pre-test scores and instructor recommendation. Students may require more than one session of preparation prior to testing. This class will include homework. GED™ 2 course is for students who have progressed though GED™ I but need additional review in order to sit for the GED™ exam. This course will include review of reading/writing, science, social studies, and mathematics. This class will include homework.


High School Equivalency - GED™ I

Kaplan 2024-25 GED™ Textbook

This fee is to purchase the Kaplan 2024-25 Textbook. If you purchase the book using this link, your textbook will be available for pickup in person at the Kingston Center of SUNY Ulster at 94 Mary's Avenue, M-F 9am-5pm.

High School Equivalency - GED™ II

This course is for students who have progressed though GED I™ but need additional review in order to sit for the GED™ exam. This course will include review of Reading/Writing, Science, Social Studies, and Mathematics.

This class will include homework. Required textbook for this course is Kaplan GED 2024-2025, must be purchased by the student.

Students should only register for GED™ II if they've taken the GED™ I program twice OR by recommendation from the instructor.

Pathway to New York State Equivalency Program

On April 10, 2018, the New York State Board of Regents approved regulatory changes to provide a fourth pathway to earn a New York State Equivalency (HSE) Diploma. Individuals who have passed Regents Examinations in English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies can substitute those passing scores for a maximum of four of the five corresponding GED™ subtests: Reading, Math, Science and Social Studies.
