Course Offerings

Do you want to find out why motorcycling is FUN?  Or prepare for the MSF Basic RiderCourse?  This is the way to start!

This 2-hour hands-on introductory course covers the basics of motorcycle operation from what type of protective gear to wear to straight-line riding.  Motorcycles are provided and students will be riding!

 
  • Review the protective clothing and equipment to wear while on a motorcycle.
  • Learn how to locate and use each of the key motorcycle controls.
  • Demonstrate basic motorcycle operation and finish with straight-line riding.
  • There is no driver’s license or motorcycle permit requirement.
  • There are up to six students in a course.

Enjoy personalized instruction at your own pace and learn how to ride safely.  Students will practice slow-speed maneuvers while under the guidance of a DMV-certified instructor.  Private lessons are highly recommended for new riders to build confidence while familiarizing themselves with a motorcycle.  Motorcycles are provided.

This discounted package for beginners includes the entire training curriculum to get a motorcycle license.  This allows a person who has never ridden a motorcycle to successfully pass the licensing course and acquire an intermediate skill level. Motorcycles are provided for all services.  This package includes 3 courses that must be taken in sequential order:

BASIC COURSE:

 

MSF Basic RiderCourse Get trained, get licensed. The FAST TRACK to motorcycle licensing!

This 2-day course helps students learn skills such as straight-line riding, shifting, turning, swerving, and stopping (including making quick stops).  Motorcycles are provided.  After successfully learning these essential skills, you can earn the DMV Road Test Waiver card which can be redeemed for a motorcycle license! 

The course curiculum consists of a 5-hour online eCourse and 10 hours of practical training on a motorcycle.  You must have a valid NYS Driver’s License and NYS Motorcycle Permit at the time of waiver redemption (permit test may be taken after course completion).  Additionally, be sure to check with your insurance company, as you may be eligible for discounts for taking the course. 

INTERMEDIATE COURSE:

MSF Basic Rider Course 2 – Skills Practice

Refresh or fine-tune your motorcycle safety skills during this 5-hour course at the MSS location of your choice on a motorcycle.  This course is ideal for intermediate riders or MSF Basic RiderCourse graduates. Students practice low-speed maneuvering while working on swerving, braking, and cornering techniques.  If you took the MSF Basic RiderCourse more than 3 years ago, most insurance companies will accept this course completion and offer insurance discounts.

Students can bring their own street-legal motorcycle or use one from our sponsors.  Call to inquire about club discounts and take advantage of the opportunity to have a great time with other riders while becoming more familiar with your own bike!

ADVANCED COURSE:

MSF Basic Rider Course 2 - License Waiver

This 1-day course is designed for experienced riders to practice low-speed maneuvering while also improving their swerving, braking, and cornering techniques.  After practicing and refining these important techniques, you will be able to take the test for the DMV Road Test Waiver which can be redeemed for a motorcycle license!  

Bring your own street-legal motorcycle or borrow one from us!  The course curriculum includes a 4-hour online eCourse and 6 hours of practical training followed by a riding skills test.  Check with your insurance provider for eligible discounts!
