Learn how to better care for your young and senior pets, how to socialize them or to save their life. Maybe you have always dreamed of working with animals as a way to help others such as volunteer work or as a career?  Or adding a skill to assist your volunteer work or business such as taking Photographing Nature with Your Digital Camera. Not sure what direction you want to go, start with these noncredit programs below to get your foot in the field of animal care and then go on to take one of our credit programs in Veterinary Technology (AAS) or Animal Science Office Assistant (Certificate).

Animal Science Office Assistant Certificate: 27 credits

Developed through a close collaboration of SUNY Ulster faculty, regional veterinarians, and licensed veterinary technicians. This program meets the training needs of both students and practicing veterinary professionals. Upon completion of the program, students should be able to demonstrate a basic knowledge of animal nutrition, anatomy and physiology, infectious disease, and medical terminology, as well as the office skills necessary for the maintenance of a veterinary practice.
