Information Literacy Program
Information Literacy is one of SUNY Ulster’s Institutional Learning Outcomes and continues to be a major initiative at the college. In 1996, this initiative led to the development of a course, Information Literacy (LIB 111), which received the Association of College and Research Library (ACRL) Innovation in Instruction Award. LIB111 gives students the skills they need to be informed and discriminating users of information. The course has been adapted and revised over the years to reflect the changing landscape of information literacy and is a prerequisite or corequisite for students enrolling in ENG 102, ENG 172, or ENG 227.
Other Information Literacy initiatives include our Partner Librarian Program, winner of the Krembs Family Innovation Award in 2018, library instruction sessions, research guides and research consultation appointments.
