All students should access library resources and services from the Library page of the My SUNY Ulster Portal. Highlights include:
- Live chat and appointments with a librarian

As a SUNY Ulster graduate, you may continue to borrow library materials. There is no fee and the card may be renewed annually at no charge. A photo ID is required when obtaining your alumni library card.
As an alumnus, you also have remote access to two databases licensed for alumni:
- Academic Search: Alumni Edition is designed for the research needs of the post-college professional. The database provides full text for more than 3,350 journals as well as indexing and abstracting for more than 8,200 journals. Academic Search: Alumni Edition also includes valuable peer-reviewed full text journals, offering critical information from many sources.
- Business Source: Alumni Edition is designed for the research needs of the post-college professional. The database provides 1,540 full text business magazines and journals, of which 780 are peer-reviewed. This database includes publications in nearly every area of business including marketing, management, MIS, POM, accounting, finance, econometrics, economics and more.
To access these databases, send your name, address, email address and dates of attendance to library@sunyulster.edu. A library staff member will contact you to give you the appropriate access information.
Our reference staff is also available to you, and you can seek assistance from our reference staff by email, askref@sunyulster.edu, or by calling the reference desk at 845-687-5208.
The Macdonald DeWitt Library is open to Ulster County residents. The Library collection offers an excellent selection of scholarly resources. Reference librarians are available to assist users in searching the book collection and the 60+ databases available in the library. Please note, community can only access library databases from on-campus.
Community borrower cards are available at no charge to county residents. A photo ID with current address is required.
To obtain a community borrower card, go to the Office of Information Technology (Hasbrouck 115) to create an account and the Office of Public Safety in Hasbrouck Hall for an ID card.
