If you scored below college-level on the math placement exam, SUNY Ulster Advantage can help you place into a higher level math course, allowing you to save time, money, and to graduate faster.

This five-week summer skills assessment program is designed to give you the opportunity to develop math skills in pre-algebra, elementary algebra, and college algebra. The following workshops will increase your college math placement scores and place you in the appropriate college-level math course to begin the fall semester. You will be tested at the end of each session to determine your skill level and give you the option of re-enrolling into another workshop to further improve your math skills.

  • Incoming freshmen and transfer students can lay a solid foundation before beginning in the fall semester.

  • Existing SUNY Ulster students can improve their math skills to successfully pass Math 097 (Intro to Algebra) and Math 115 (College Algebra/Trigonometry).

  • Workforce students, including apprentices, can sharpen their math skills to prepare them for job-related duties.
