Financial aid and scholarships can go a long way toward paying your college costs. About 80% of our students secure financial aid and over 200 students per year receive scholarships. The Financial Aid Office will even help you complete your forms.

Payment Information

Direct Payment Plan

You can pay your tuition bill in full or you can set up a payment plan. Payments can be made by cash, check or credit card. SUNY Ulster accepts MasterCard, Visa and Discover.

Payments can be made by:

  • Cash, check or credit card at the Student Accounts Office in VAN 204.
  • Calling (845) 687-5099 and using a credit card.
  • Accessing MySUNY Ulster, you can pay by credit card online.
  • Setting up a TuitionPay payment plan online through MySUNYUlster. TuitionPay is an interest free, debt-free way to spread your payments over a number of months. Payments will then be made through your checking/savings account or credit card. Using TuitionPay, you will make a down payment, and select from a variety of convenient terms.

Financial Aid (Matriculated Students Only)

Most students at SUNY Ulster qualify for some form of financial aid, so it is in your best interest to apply even if you think you won't qualify. You'll find all the forms necessary for applying for financial aid right here.

Most students and their families have questions or need help applying for financial aid. You can get the help you need by checking our calendar for one of our regularly held financial aid workshops or by asking a trained financial aid specialist in our Financial Aid office for help. Just give us a call at (845) 687-5058. We'll even help you fill out the financial aid forms.

To be eligible for financial aid:

  • You must be a matriculated student enrolled in an ‘eligible program’.
  • You must be a U.S. citizen or permanent Resident Alien.
  • All males (between 18-25 years of age) must be registered with the Selective Service.

Applying for financial aid:

Scholarships (Matriculated Students Only)

Each year the Ulster Community College Foundation, Inc. awards scholarships to more than 200 SUNY Ulster students. There are scholarships for entering and returning students, and also students graduating from SUNY Ulster and transferring to 4 year colleges. The College Scholars program provides full-tuition for Ulster County high school students graduating in the top 10% of their class and meeting all other program requirements.   Scholarships are generally selected six months prior to the fall semester in which they will be awarded, so you will want to apply as soon as possible.  You'll find all the applications necessary for applying for scholarships right here.
    To be eligible for scholarships:
    • You must be a matriculated student enrolled in an ‘eligible program’.
    • You must be enrolled at SUNY Ulster either full or part-time.
    • You must complete and return the entering scholarship application to the Foundation office by the deadline.
    • You must include a typed essay with the entering scholarship application.
    • You must be able to write thank you letters to scholarship representatives.
    • You must be able to attend the Foundation's scholarship ceremony.
